Search Engine Optimisation, or SEO, is the process of making changes to online and off-line factors that determine how high your website is placed in the natural search results within online search engines such as Google or Yahoo. SEO is different from PPC (Pay-Per-Click) advertising, where you join a search engine or other program and you pay for search results using certain keywords. Take Google for example: Here we have done a search on Google using the search phrase "collectable books". The top listing is highlighted and to the right of this link appear the words "sponsored link". This means that the website owner paid Google to appear there. The links appearing down the right column are also paying to appear there.
